The purpose of this study was to assess levels of sexual awareness and life satisfaction from the 260 community-dwelling elderly Koreans. The levels were analyzed according to sociodemographic characteristics of the sample. The major findings were that the levels of sexual awareness and life satisfaction were significantly related with the respondents’ gender, age, educational background, finance, employment status, cohabitation status, subjective health, and activity levels; at the same time, the sexual awareness level was a significant predictor variable to the life satisfaction. The findings were discussed in the context of promoting social welfare benefits for the elderly.
